Exam and Immunization Schedule

Annual Physical Examination
Dr. Martin recommends that his patients have
yearly physical exams. 

 

Chest X-rays
Every 5 years.  May be done if a patient 
has a respiratory complaint, or a positive TB skin test

 

Mammograms (women) 
Every year for women over 40.  Occasionally every six months 
for previous abnormal mammograms

 

Pap Smear (women)
Every year

 

PSA (men)
Every year for men 40 years and older

 

Sigmoidoscopy/Colonoscopy  
Every three years for patients 40 years and older

 

Stool Occult Blood
Every year

 

Cholesterol
Every 3-6 months for patients on cholesterol-lowering medication, 
or at patient's regularly scheduled physical

 

Homocysteine Level 
At patient's regularly scheduled physical

 

Electrocardiogram 
Every year

 

Vital Capacity Lung Test
Every year

IMMUNIZATIONS SCHEDULE: 
TB Skin test:		Every 2 years
Tetanus Toxoid:	Every 7 years
Flu Vaccine:		Every 6 months
Hepatitis A:		Series of two shots, recommended every 6 years
Hepatitis B:		Series of three shots.  If negative antibodies found after
                        third shot, a second series is recommended
Pneumonia Vaccine:	Every 5 years.
